What to include.

When contacting support, please include:

  • A clear description of your question or the issue you are experiencing
  • The email address associated with your Kythen account, if you have one
  • The device and operating system you are using, if relevant
  • Any error messages or screenshots that help us understand the situation

We do not ask for passwords, payment information, or sensitive personal details over email. If anyone claiming to represent Kythen asks you for these, do not respond and report it to us.

Common questions.

When does Kythen launch?

Kythen is in active development. Launch will be announced through our waitlist and on this site. Join the waitlist at kythen.place to be notified.

Where is Kythen available?

Kythen launches city by city. The launch markets will be announced when ready. Joining the waitlist with your city helps us prioritize where to open next.

Is Kythen a dating app?

No. Kythen is a social connection app for the rooms you return to and the people who return to them with you. We are not optimizing for romantic connection specifically; we are building for the broader category of meeting people in places you are actually present at.

How does Kythen protect my privacy?

Kythen is built around constraints. We do not sell your data. We do not run ads inside the app. We do not read your messages to train anything. We do not collect your location in the background. Read more in our Privacy Policy.

How does Kythen work without my location running in the background?

Kythen does not collect background location. Presence verification happens only when you choose to check in at a venue, using a combination of QR code scanning and Wi-Fi network identification. When you leave the venue, presence ends.

What is Connect+?

Connect+ is Kythen's optional subscription. Most of Kythen is free. Connect+ will offer additional features for users who want them. Details and pricing will be announced ahead of launch. Founding members will receive grandfathered rates.

Reporting safety concerns.

If you experience harassment, abuse, or any safety concern in Kythen once launched, you can report it directly in the app. For urgent safety concerns before in-app reporting is available, email privacy@kythen.place.
